Happy Father's Day!

It's Father's Day and we wanted to take our special guy to a special place to celebrate! The twins and I got the idea to take Scott to the Rain Forest Cafe' when our friend Adrian came to spend the day with us and was wearing a t-shirt from his trip there. We were all looking forward to seeing the sights and sounds of the rainforest, so after church we headed down to The Galleria. While waiting in line the boys got to check out the scenery and got to peek into the gift shop where there was a talking tree. Parker was very excited, while Pierce wasn't quite sure this outing would be what he expected! When it was our turn to go in, Parker and Peyton were all eyes and ears, just amazed at the surroundings. When I looked back to check on Scott and Pierce, I saw Pierce planting his feet in the ground insisting he was not going in! Finally, Scott had to pick him up and carry him in because he was crying and carrying on so. Once we were seated, Pierce felt more at ease. As we sat at the table, we experienced thunderstorms, stars lighting up in the sky, and animals making all of their wild animal sounds. It wasn't well into our meal before he decided to relax a little. We ended our lunch with "The Volcano". It's a brownie and ice cream dessert that the boys had seen so many other tables order, so we knew there was no escaping this delectable treat! All in all, we had a nice time~ Happy Father's Day, Babe!!! Thank you for being such a great Daddy to our boys...we love you!

We spent a few days at my grandparents house in Louisiana with my sister, Heather, and her 4 boys. We treasure these times when our little boys are small. We played outside most of the time, but we also did a few indoor activities like tie dying shirts, decorating cookies and making bird feeders.

Thank goodness for the hide-a-bed!

Decorating cookies!

We used sugar cones, peanut butter, cherrios and bird seed to make bird feeders...

Messy boy!

I love spaghetti...
but no thank you to the broccoli!

Fun on the slide...

Chloe Belle

Chloe loved butterflies so I decided to use a beautiful butterfly background this month to celebrate her and her life.

This is a picture I took when we celebrated Chinese New Year at school with noodles and fortune cookies!

Chloe's school picture in first grade.

Chloe Belle

It's been almost a year since sweet little Chloe went to be in heaven. Chloe was such a sweet, precious little girl who has touched my life, and so many others with her courageous fight against cancer. She was diagnosed on her seventh birthday with Ewing's Sarcoma. She was in my class as a first grader and while I know teachers aren't suppose to have favorites, Chloe, and the entire group of kids I taught that year will always have a special place in my heart. I miss her fun, spunky spirit, but I know we have a special little angel watching over us!
Last month I had the honor of being chosen as a 'Distinguished Teacher' by a top 5% graduate at Spring High School. I was so incredibly touched when I got the letter saying that Chelsea, Chloe's big sister, chose me as a teacher who had an impact on her life. While I never taught Chelsea, I felt I knew a lot about her because Chloe adored her so and talked about her big sister often. The banquet was lovely, and it was so wonderful to see Chloe's mom and dad. I think about them often, especially this month as I remember Chloe's birthday.
